|Summary||0003438: System Update Monitor (SUMo + DUMo in one application)|
|Description||I would love to have one application, that scans my system for available software updates (SUMo) and also for hardware drivers (DUMo).|
One application that keeps my system up to date.
So why don't integrate DUMo in SUMo?
Maybe you have two tabs (one tab "Software" and one tab "Drivers")?

Was my initial idea but finally not so many part of code in common + different target / life cycle.
To be considered in mid term
It would be cool if you merge them.
You have one application with two tabs, but both look the same and both can be controlled the same way.
A very good user experience (UX).
In the first column you have the icon of the application (tab "Software") or the icon of the device (tab "Drivers").
In the column "Status" you show the icon of the status and the status text (like "OK" or "Update available")
This is suggested in 0003435
At the top of each tab you show the counters (like you have it in SUMo already).
So users see at once the number of available Software updates and hardware updates.
You need the settings only once (the SUMo settings).
All other features like:
- Period background checks with tray notifications (0003179)
- Easier database updates [PRO only] (0003436)
- Auto-update for portable version of SUMo (0003004)
- ... (many other suggestions)
need to be implemented only ONE for the new applications.
I really would use SUMo, add a second tab "Drivers" and add the drivers scan of DUMo.
It is one source, one application to maintain and only one application to deliver.
I am annoyed when I have to update two tools (SUMo and DUMo) separate.
Updating one tool would be much easier.
Please, Kyle, implement this!
Not so easy as they currently are 2 distinct products !
But in the future, for sure this is something i'd like to implement
Add a 3rd tab called "Windows Updates".
Here you Show all available Windows Updates.

The first tab could be a "Status" page that shows 3 pie-charts (pie-diagrams).
See also 0003952.
One dialgram for "Software Updates", one diagram for "Driver Updates" and one diagram for "Windows Updates".
Or you add one pie-chart at the top of each tab.
The current vulnerabilities in processors (Spectre and Meltdown) show how vulnerable our systems are.
All security experts say, that it is very important that users keep their system up to date (installed applications and hardware drivers).
This is especially important for the web browsers.
So it would be really cool when there is a System Update Monitor that combines SUMo and DUMo.
It also would be cool when this new app would inform me about BIOS updates (but this would be far to complicated).
This is a larger feature request, I know.
But it really would help increasing the usability a lot!
I have one tool that tells me if my applications and my drivers need an update.
