|Summary||0005416: Make the initial sort order of final report configurable|
|Description||In the forum post https://www.kcsoftwares.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2853#p4993 you recommend opening a new feature request. As I noted there several aspects are already implemented. There remains one aspect missing:|
SUMO creates a report for which applications it detected available updates in a default sort order. This sort order is currently hard coded. This sort order seems to be mainly the update column. I don't know if it is indeed a combination of that columns with a tag (major/minor). While it is possible to reorder that report after creation for every column reported, it is not yet possible to configure that initial order for the first presentation resp. creation. Please make this initial sort order configurable.
And why is displaying the sorted report so slow, at least for large report sizes?
Wouldn't it be better and more performant to display the sorted list once instead line by line progress?
Progress information can also be displayed in the status line at the bottom, at least for those installations with working status line.
|Additional Information||On most of my devices, the report size is much more than 500 lines. For those reports, one is running on a slow tablet (weak Intel Atom CPU and slow permanent storage with sufficient RAM) and one is running on a Intel Core i7-8xxxx CPU (hence 64 bit) with a fast SSD attached via PCIe as system permanent storage. Even on the fast device it takes minutes to display. On the slower one, it can take up to half an hour!|
