Trojan in SUMo

Post by bobov »

I just installed SUMo's latest update. My anti-virus software blocked installation of a trojan accompanying SUMo. It was described as Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT. No, I won't tell you which anti-virus, so you can look for ways to get around it.

You're pushing the limit. You now "update" SUMo as often as twice a week, seemingly only to add more garbage. I know you don't charge, and need to raise revenue, but selling your subscribers to users of trojans is too much.

I'm running deep scans now to remove any other malware or spyware SUMo brought.

If this continues, I'll have no choice but to permanently uninstall SUMo with the Revo Uninstaller, to eliminate any traces you leave behind.

We release update in order to fix bugs or to add new functionnalities.

All our sponsors are clean from trojans. Therefore i think that this alert is a false positive.

We also provide "no sponsors" installers (lite builds) on our download page. I'd recommend to use these if you want to avoid such issues.

I tried this. All I get when I unzip the download is a long list of files with no way to install them. How do you install the files after download?

Try using the lite installer instead of zip package
Link is below list of software.

Seems like the nork installer has been bloated with v3.0. After installation, a Conduit page pops up (I had unticked everything related to adware) which is blocked by NOD32 due to malware...

Conduit is only proposed on our download page, NOT in the installation process.
May i have a screenshot please ?

Maybe - at least there is a page appearing after the installation which seems to contain malware...

(I thought the nork installer was ad-free?)

NoRK means "Without Relevant Knowledge"
Ad-free is "lite" installer (also available on download page)
