May you please provide more details about context? On which machine with which CPU and how much RAM are you running? How long lasted this situation and did it come back? What's the difference to your situation seven years ago, when you detected that your installation of Malwarebytes was blocking the communication to SUMo server?
I've configured SUMo to work intensively on my devices. And even on a powerful device with sufficient RAM, I usually don't have to wait longer than about 75 minutes (not hours) for a complete SUMo scan or check operation.
